Why Preschool-5th Grade Education?
A common question that parents ask when considering an independent education is whether I should choose a K-12 school or a PreK-5 school. We know that children learn in distinct ways, and they benefit greatly from a school designed to meet their unique needs, learning styles, and potential. The curriculum at Brainerd Baptist School is prepared and designed for elementary school students' academic, social, and spiritual development. Our program is designed to allow all students, PreK-6th grade, the opportunity to discover their own joy and confidence in learning
We are passionate about the education of young children. One of the main differences between an elementary school and a K-12 school is the simple fact that our focus is 100% on the education of young children. Essential factors in your child’s education, like curriculum, programs, schedules, and instruction, are all made with a focus on what is best for young children. The childhood and preteen years are critical to your child’s academic, emotional, and social development. That’s why we believe that a preschool through 5th-grade program provides the best atmosphere to prepare your child for future success. Our setting allows students to become leaders at a time when they need to learn those skills the most and are open to understanding the demands and responsibilities of being a leader. They learn this in many ways: by participating in sports teams, taking center-stage in drama productions, learning to appreciate the arts, developing a love for serving others and our community, and many more things as they develop. At the same time, they are still part of a community that includes preschoolers, which keeps them from growing up too fast while allowing them to serve as role models to the younger children.
Our challenging academic curriculum lets them explore a variety of new subjects in a comfortable and familiar environment. By middle school, their strengths, learning styles, and interests have coalesced, and our graduates tell us they feel prepared and are confident in themselves and their abilities to find their way at the next step. We also work closely with the schools that our students transition school to make sure our students are successful at the next stage of their education.
