Memory Verse: “But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22-23

Unit: Back to School

Language Arts: We are beginning handwriting practice with handwriting strokes and practicing writing our names.

Math: We will introduce and review classroom routines for math. We will practice one-to-one correspondence with counting from 1 to 20. We will also begin comparing numbers to see which has the “most” or is the greater number.

Announcements:

  • Welcome to K5!  Thanks for a great phase-in!

  • K5 students may go to their classrooms at 8:00. When arriving before 8:00, students must be walked into the building and signed into early room. Our day begins at 8:15. If your child is not in their classroom by 8:15, they will be considered tardy. You must sign your child into the office after 8:15.

  • Please have your child’s car tag in the car window when going through the pick-up line. If your child is going to ASC, please let your teacher know and if possible, your child.

  • Even if your child brings lunch on Wednesday, they may still purchase ice cream (.25) or a drink (.50). We do not get ice cream on any other day.

  • Tennis shoes are the safest choice for K5 recess. Remember, they have to wear socks with their shoes.

  • All kindergarten students will go through a speech screening over the next few weeks. Our school SLP, Ally Smith, will be conducting the screenings. If you have any questions about this, contact Missy Henson in the learning center.
