K5 Overview

November 2 - 8

Memory Verse: Numbers 6:26 “May the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”  

Unit: Engineering 

Phonics: We will be working on Letter Ff. We will focus on skills including  recognizing the sound in the initial position, reading words with Ff and all the letters we have learned, and practicing proper formation of capital and lowercase Ff.

F and F: We will be reading and sharing our books from our character book reports!

Sight Words: stop, has, his 

Math: We will be expanding the study of numbers to 10. Matching numerals and quantities, counting forward and backward, reading numerals, comparing numbers and adding. We will also be ordering numbers and making combinations to five. 

Announcements:

• As the weather gets colder, we will be going out to recess daily unless it is below freezing. Please check the weather and send appropriate outerwear each day. Don’t forget to label your child’s belongings.

• Don’t forget to send a snack and water bottle each day. 

• Be sure to practice your sight words, phonics readers, and word lists at home!
